ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR TEACHERS OF ENGLISH 2011


Letter of Invitation to Annual Conference

Dear Colleagues :

The  Instituto Cultural Domínico Americano has been proudly serving the community since 1947, when it was founded by a group of Dominican and United States citizens.  Its aim is to further education in general, and especially the teaching of English and Spanish as foreign languages, and of American and Dominican cultures.  For decades it has hosted international Conferences for Teachers of English in various forms.  This year we are happy to invite you to our conference,

    Thursday, June 23  - Hotel Meliá Santo Domingo
          Friday,  June 24 – ICDA   main campus on
                          Abraham Lincoln Ave.


Our conference gathers international and local program administrators and teachers from elementary and secondary, private and public schools,  universities, language institutes,  academies and bilingual schools comprising  EFL/ESL programs in the Dominican Republic. Plenary Sessions will be conducted by Ms. Donna Brinton, Senior Lecturer in Applied Linguistics at the University of California; Mr.  Brian Long,  from the  School for International Training (SIT), and several international and local speakers.

This annual conference is being sponsored by the ICDA, the Public Affairs Section of the American Embassy (also known  as Centro Franklin),  and by Heinle Cengage Learning  and several  other publishing companies that carry EFL textbooks, software, and other supplementary materials.

Monday, May 30: Last Day  to submit   presentation proposals

From June 20 to June 23:  Late Registration  
  
 Wednesday June 22, 9 a.m. to  8 p.m: Tote bags and name tag pick up at the Registrar’s Office.  ICDA Main Campus

Thursday, June 23,  8 a.m. to 9 a.m:  Tote bags and name tag pick up at   Hotel Meliá Santo Domingo.
