Description

UNICDA is the University of the Instituto Cultural Domínico-Americano, (ICDA), a cultural organism, and also an organism for bilingual education, founded more than half a century ago to promote bicultural friendship and to teach languages. The ICDA has a vast program of services to the community, which includes cultural and artistic events – a wide scope of educational institutions, among them a pre-school, a school that offers primary and secondary education, and which is accredited in the United States, and the largest school in the Caribbean for the teaching of English and Spanish as foreign languages.

Besides, the Universidad Domínico-Americana serves its community and its students as a dynamic gateway toward professional life. It offers programs that can be completed in two or three years, thus obtaining one’s degree; it also offers postgraduate studies, and a wide variety of programs in the domain of continued education.
  • UNICDA offers a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere, where all the classrooms are air-conditioned. Each classroom can hold only 24 students. It is easy to reach, being in the center of the city, in a city where traffic is so heavy.

  • UNICDA gathers the most innovating ideas and concentrates them into programs, procedures, and policies that keep the student in constant activity.

  • UNICDA listens to the companies, organisms, and groups whose employees are or have been registered here, in order to adapt their instructional program to the emerging reality of Dominican life within a globalized economy.

  • UNICDA is the only bilingual university in the Dominican Republic. All its graduates know the English tongues as well as they do Spanish.

  • UNICDA graduates persons who are easy to recognize because it forms them with a basis of practical knowledge, making them conscious of being bicultural and of having communicative competence and leadership skills.

  • UNICDA emphasizes the quality of teaching, administration, and student services.

  • UNICDA takes pride in providing an intimate atmosphere, since it is a small school, where the size of classes is strictly limited, and where personal attention is the standard.

  • UNICDA knows each student by his name, and offers him/her personalized treatment.
