UNICDA – Curricula and levels of English

Associate in Executive Bilingual Secretarial Skills

Of all the programs offered by UNIDCA, the oldest is that of Executive Bilingual Secretarial Secretary. It is also the career from which the largest number of successful professionals has graduated. Being able to show the seal of the “Domínico” in your training as a secretary guarantees a large number of opportunities of getting a good job with enterprises that seek bilingual skills. Year after year, graduates of the UNICDA program are among the winners of the “Secretary of the Year” contest."

The curriculum, in Spanish as well as in English, aims at training the future professional with the skills that will enable her carry out her role in the modern office as an efficient bilingual executive secretary. It is made up of an integrated sequence of subjects that:

  • Emphasize the overall formation of a bilingual professional, in aspects like Professional Ethics, Psychology, Etiquette and Protocol, and Human Relations.
  • Emphasize knowledge of grammar and structures in English as well as Spanish.
  • Emphasizes skills that are proper to the career, such as typing, shorthand, drafting and style, Business Communication, filing techniques, business correspondence, office administration, translation, and speech.

The graduate does not limit herself to doing shorthand and typing, at a business level, but counts with complete, integrated bilingual training, in order to carry out efficiently administrative work at a bilingual executive level, which allow them to venture into commercial enterprises, banks, industry, service enterprises, non-governmental state enterprises, diplomatic enterprises, both national and international, helping out efficiently the officers of the highest rank, such as directors, administrators, managers, ambassadors, and CEOs. Besides, she can rightfully look forward to a promotion to the positions of Administrative Assistant, Head of a Section, Supervisor, and Manager.
