Bachelor’s degree in the administration of hotels and tourist enterprises

The administrators of tourist enterprises and of hotels must plan, analyze, coordinate, and control all the physical, economic, and human resources that said enterprises count with since they are dedicated to offering hospitality to tourists, entertaining them, and helping them relax, as well as making other persons who need to stay there temporarily feel as if they were at home. The career of the Administration of Tourist Enterprises and of Hotels prepares professionals for the administration of enterprises that have to do with hospitality, hotels, tourism, and marketing (with an emphasis on the tourist aspect).

The curriculum is made up of an integrated sequence of subject grouped as:

  • Subjects belonging to the humanities and to the social sciences
  • Subjects of basic professional formation.
  • Subjects that are proper to the career of Administración de Empresas Turísticas y Hoteleras (Administration of Hotels and Tourist Enterprises), in the areas of hotel administration, the administration of tourist agencies, marketing as applied to tourism, tourist advertising, the administration of hotel personnel, and the financing of tourism. A unique component of the program is its emphasis on Dominican tourism, which includes studies on ecology, history, archeology, and biodiversity both on land and in the sea, folklore, and the tourist attractions of this country.

The graduate who prepares this career can work in hotel enterprises or tourist enterprises as:

The owner or administrator of a tourist agency – the administrator of a hotel – manager of tourist sales manager of tourist marketing – Head of the Department of a Hotel or Supervisor – Manager of Human Resources for Hotels – Tourism Advisor – Operator of a Restaurant.
