Changes in Schedule
Returning
students
Withdrawals
For new students:
New students can register more quickly with the form the
student fills out when he takes the level exam. The Office
of the Registrar has all the information in its database,
and the student who has taken the level exam is ready
to register in the correct level depending on the results
of the level exam.
For
students currently at the Institute:
For
all current students, the registration process starts
two months before the beginning of the following cycle,
thus facilitating rapid registration and guaranteeing
room in the schedules that have been requested. The level
the student will be sent to depends on whether or not the student passes
the level he/she is currently in and can go on to the next
level.
Changes
in Schedule
Should a student decide to change schedules after registering,
this is what he must do:
1.
Register normally on the set day.
2. Go to the Office of the Registrar on the day set aside
for changes in schedule, with his receipt, pay for the change
in schedule, and if necessary pay the supplement. The Office
of the Registrar cannot guarantee that there will be room
if changes are made. All changes must be authorized by the
Office of the Registrar.
Returning
Students
Returning students are all those who have been away from
the Dominico for one cycle or more, and return to continue
studying English. They are not guaranteed room upon their
return, and when they register they must pay a supplementary
charge. Returning students in the basic program who have been away from the Dominico
for three or more cycles must take a level exam in order
to register again. Students in the advanced program can be away for one year. All returning students must take a level exam before registering, in order to determine their level of English.
Withdrawals
If a student decides to withdraw from his course during
the first week, he will be reimbursed 70% of the amount
he paid, with a check to be issued during the following
10 days; after the first week of class, tuition will not
be reimbursed.
