Who we are?

The Educational Information and Resources Branch of the U.S. Department of State supports a network of over 500 EducationUSA Advising Centers which promote higher education around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, objective and, timely information about educational opportunities in the United States, and by providing guidance given by experienced counselors to qualified individuals on how best to avail themselves of those opportunities. We offer accurate, unbiased information about all accredited US Higher Education Institutions.

The Educational Counseling Office, known by its initials as ECO, is part of the EducationUSA network.  It offers information to all those who wish to study abroad in programs for an Associate’s degree, a Bachelor’s degree, and in graduate or postgraduate studies It offers the following computerized tests through the Prometric Testing Center: The TOEFL, the GRE, the USMLE, the PMI among others. We also promote educational and cultural exchanges, and administer the ICDA scholarships.

The EducationUSA Advising Team has launched an educational Podcast series sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. The Podcasts cover topics such as finding a U.S. university or college, financing your studies, strengthening your application, and preparing for the entrance exams.
