Honor

Academic Merit and Honor roll are defined at the end of each grading period. In addition, Dominico-Americano School students are recognized monthly for exhibiting the desired moral values being reinforced in the school character development program. In the annual Awards Ceremony and Commencement Exercise students are given recognition for maintaining honors and academic excellence throughout the current school year and during the four high school years, respectively.

Student of the Month

Every month, the students from 1st through 6th grade select from their peers that student which exhibits best the value of the month. Student’s Parents are invited to attend the flag ceremony, where these students are awarded their certificates of recognition. At the end of the year, from the list of the monthly-recognized students, the student of the year is selected.

At the end of the school year, the student who best exhibits most of the values is chosen from among the accumulated “Students of the Month” list.

Academic Merit

This is awarded for academic excellence.
a) Elementary, 7th, and 8th Grades: Must have obtained at least an 80 or more in all subjects and obtained an accumulative GPA of 85 or more.
b) d) High School: Must have obtained an 80 or more in all subjects and obtained an accumulative GPA of 90 or more.

Cuadro de Honor

Se toma en cuenta el aspecto académico y la conducta. Será incluido en el Cuadro de Honor al final de cada período evaluativo aquel estudiante que haya obtenido Reconocimiento Académico con conducta satisfactoria en todas las asignaturas. Sólo los estudiantes que se encuentren en el Cuadro de Honor los cuatro períodos evaluativos pueden optar por el Certificado de Honor al finalizar el año escolar.

Medalla de Excelencia

Se toma en cuenta el aspecto académico y la conducta. Sólo los estudiantes que se encuentren en el Cuadro de Honor los cuatro períodos evaluativos pueden optar por Medalla de Excelencia al finalizar el año escolar.
Primaria: 1ero. – 8vo.
• Se otorga medalla de excelencia al estudiante que en su grado obtenga el índice académico final más alto, 80 puntos o más en todas sus asignaturas y una conducta general satisfactoria.

Media: 1ero a 4to de Bachillerato:
• En cada una de las áreas académicas básicas (Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Lengua Española y Ciencias Sociales). se premiará al estudiante con el promedio final más alto en cada grado y conducta general satisfactoria.

Honores de Graduación

Además de los reconocimientos estipulados para la Secundaria, los estudiantes de la clase graduanda de Bachillerato podrán optar por los siguientes honores:
• Valedictorian: se premiará con un trofeo al estudiante con el más alto índice académico en ese último año escolar.

• Salutatorian: se premiará con una placa al estudiante con el segundo índice académico más alto en ese último año escolar.

• Estudiante Domínico-Americano: Se premiará al Estudiante Domínico-Americano por excelencia. El estudiante debe tener un mínimo de cuatro años en el Colegio, promedio académico final de 90, y haber mantenido una conducta excelente en los últimos cuatro años de escolaridad; también se tomará en cuenta su condición de líder y espíritu escolar. El personal docente y administrativo de la Secundaria elegirán este estudiante.
